Goldilocks and just one bear4/25/2023 There is only a little text in this book so I was concerned that it might be a bit babyish compared to the densely described ladybird stories, however the illustrations are great fun so I thought it was worth a go.įirstly this is a great read aloud book because it uses onomatopoeia to great effect: words like whooshy and ouchy with a great illustration to help convey the meaning - and you can really make a great performance out of telling the simple story. I bought this book for my nearly three year old granddaughter who has been enjoying fairy tales for a little while now. Leigh lives in East Sussex with her husband and children. Because of this fact she is always drawing/writing/making/designing/baking. Leigh has a fizzy brain and is rubbish at relaxing. She is designer and co-creator of Cbeebies animated show “Olobob Top”. Her books have been published all around the world. Leigh has made oodles of books for children and has worked with Orchard, Nosy Crow, Bloomsbury, Simon & Schuster, Egmont and Oxford University Press. It was after this her journey into making picture books began. Leigh worked in animation for a while making short film/tv/adverts and then as art director for kids tv show “Charlie and Lola”. She studied graphic design at the University of Humberside and then specialised in Animation Direction at the National Film and Television School. She was born in Rhodesia and emigrated to the UK when she was a child and grew up in Hampshire. She also is an animation director, designer and kids tv creator.
